Editing, Copying, and Deleting Fee Items

Once your fee structure exists for a term, these are the day-to-day maintenance actions — adjusting it, carrying it into the next term, and cleaning it up.

Editing a fee group

Fee items sharing the same name and required/optional status across different classes form a fee group. Edit Fee Group handles the whole group as one save — rename it, change one or more class amounts, add or drop classes from it, and switch its discountable flag or billing frequency, all in a single diff rather than editing each class's row individually.

Copying last term's fees into a new term

01

Open Fees → Structure for the new (target) term.

02

Choose Copy from last term.

03

Fees101 copies every fee from the term just before this one, whichever way it bills, and skips anything already here (same name, class, and required status).

04If a compulsory fee that bills once came across, such as a yearly levy, a notice names it.

Delete it if it shouldn't be charged this term.

The copy brings fees, not the students ticked on them. When the term is activated, students on an Every term opt-in follow to the fee with the same name. Once a session opt-ins only follow into a new session, and This term only opt-ins never do, so add those students again if you bring the fee back. See Moving Fees to a New Term.

Deleting a fee item

You can delete a single fee item, or bulk-delete every item sharing a name across all classes and variants at once. A bulk delete cleans up any dependent per-student opt-ins first, so you're not left with orphaned opt-in records pointing at a fee that no longer exists.

Gotchas

None of this works on a closed term — fee data on a closed term is entirely read-only until someone reopens it as a draft.
